Making A Wet Molded Leather Pouch I made up this wet molded leather pouch to hold my phone. It is hand sewn from vegetable tanned leather with copper snaps. Wet molding leather is a fun and easy way to make a leather pouch that is dimensional, it's also a good way to make bushcraft survival gear. Just get yourself a mold (we made this one out of scrap 3/4" ply wood and smoothed the edges with sand paper), soak your leather, and form the leather to the form. Let it dry overnight and you're good to make your wet molded leather pouch! This design is a riff on old bushcraft pouches. Wet molded leather is also seen often in antique military bags, map bags, and lots of luggage. Wet molding leather has become a bit of a dying art, but it's sure fun to do if you've got some time!
