Adrian Iftene stepped onto the TEDx Copou stage for the very first time! His talk showcased how AI is reshaping vital fields—medicine, law, computer science, and education—by giving professionals advanced tools that dramatically amplify their capabilities. Yet he also cautioned that technology is not infallible; AI-generated inaccuracies remain a real risk. That’s why experts are indispensable: they must supervise, think critically, and correct errors quickly. His message was a powerful reminder that technology must be understood, not merely used. His areas of expertise include natural language processing (named entity recognition, sentiment analysis, question-answering systems), social network analysis, image processing, augmented and virtual reality applications, conversational technologies (such as Amazon Alexa), gesture and eye-tracking control, as well as advanced software engineering. So far, he has been involved in 20 research projects (10 international and 10 national), 10 operational programs, 6 ERASMUS mobilities, and 3 COST actions. He served as project director in three major projects (MUCKE, Compet IT&C, and IRSmart), and as scientific coordinator in the STAGES project. In recent years, together with his students, he has developed innovative smart health applications and AI-driven solutions targeting conditions such as colorectal cancer, stroke, atrial fibrillation, Alzheimer's disease, malaria, and tuberculosis. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
