The Dinner Table Syndrome (DTS) is a common Deaf experience, the feeling of exclusion that occurs when surrounded by the rapid conversations of hearing family or friends, whether they sign or not. The film follows Isabella, a Deaf teen, as she navigates that feeling of isolation over two holidays. Her hearing sister, Sofia, brings her to a holiday gathering with friends who do not know Sign Language. Told visually rather than being dialogue-heavy, the film invites the audience into Isabella's perspective, what it’s like to be both present and unseen.
