Replacing the 12v battery on 2014 VW Touareg

A short video with some tips on changing out your 12v battery. A small cut in the carpet will save you from unplugging the airbag in the seat, potentially turning on the airbag light. If you cannot unlock the car because the 12v battery is dead, the trunk may unlock, and you can get in that way. There's a hidden keylock on the drivers door, but most likely your plastic key will snap. The normal size is 17". The interstate 95R I bought from Costco was 1" shorter and 5Ah less capacity. Some application charts show 94R as the correct battery, but larger batteries also fit. My car came with 95R and it has 25% more Ah compared to the 94R (105Ah vs 80Ah). A diesel engine requires more cranking amps, and the battery is a pain to replace, so I'd spend the extra $100 for the larger battery.
