2024 Not Your Average Folk Contest Finalist His & Hers

Formed in 2013, His & Hers is a folk Americanagrass band from rural North Carolina playing original compositions. Themes of family, relationships, and the power of connection resonate through the harmony of the husband and wife fronted band. His & Hers has released 3 studio albums and an EP, "Live at the Primavera Roadhouse, Vol 1." in March, 2024. "The tradition of folk and bluegrass music, both in the sincerity of lyrics and the honest simplicity of structure, has helped us navigate our development as musicians. Embracing traditions is a freeing way to relieve the perceived pressure to "keep up" with the ever changing climate in both the music scene and in life itself. We are from, and still live in, a small town with a typical rural southern feel and community, where everyone knows someone, who probably knows whoever you might need, at any given time. We are blessed to be surrounded by family and close family friends that go back generations, whose support and presence has helped guide our path as musicians and people. Many of these themes and experiences have helped shape the messages and stories that the music of His & Hers conveys."
