Hello and welcome, and welcome back to my lovely subscribers, you make me so happy! It's getting harder and harder to find copies of Edith Holden's lovely nature journal "Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady" but if it's nature illustrations and the handwritten style you love, there are other options that might be more readily available Here's a flip-through of a few that I've found; three that feature flowers and plants and one that is more of a visual diary tracing the occupants of an historic cottage. Looking through this one gave me so many ideas that I digressed, as usual, into a little demonstration of how easy it is to take an idea and create a simple memorable entry in your own junk journal. Here's Flowers for You by Freda Titford Constance Miller's Book of Flowers A Victorian Flower Album by Henry Terry and A Commoner's Cottage by Frances Mountford Thanks for watching! #booksforjunkjournals #flipthrough #favouritebooks My name is Penel and I love making things and sharing ideas. A long time lampworker, I’ve made my living from small glass creations but during Covid I started to paint and draw and make journals again, and this led to the wonderful world of junk journals. What a great way to use up my considerable stash! of books, papers, dyes, threads, fabric, you name it I probably have it in the cupboard. Early days so I'm not quite sure how this will evolve but sharing what I'm doing seems as good a place as any to start. You can find more of my work, along with daughter Que, over on instagram @glass.mad and @penelements. If you’re interested in buying anything feel free to dm us there, or you can email [email protected] Thank you so much for being here, and especially for all your lovely comments and likes!
