Iğdır is a province in the Eastern Anatolia Region of Turkey, in the Erzurum - Kars Section and in the easternmost part of Turkey. The “Meteor Pit”, located within the borders of Korhan Plateau of Karakoyunlu, approximately 42 km from the city center, is a large pit formed by the fall of a meteorite in 1892. It ranks second in the world in terms of size and depth, after the Barringer Crater in Arizona. It is 35 meters wide and 60 meters deep. It is also possible to come across many worked stones around the pit. This place, which is a riot of colors with its rich natural scenery and floral flora that cannot be found anywhere in the world, is located at a crossroad that provides the opportunity to see three states at the same time.
