Singled out by the British heavy rock media as a band destined for the top. Sadly for Garrison and their contemporaries, the Seattle sound ushered in the death nell for AOR, Hair Metal, melodic rock and classic rock in the eyes of a short sighted music industry. Even the exemplars of this genre Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, Guns and Roses, Mötley Crüe Whitesnake and many more struggled. Then as quickly as it became the new sound of rock, grunge faded leaving the musical landscape to manufactured Pop, EDM and Hip Hop. The fans of melodic classic rock never went away though.
