Civil Service Main Exam. - Optional Paper Literature how scoring is discussed here. Bengali, as for example has been narrated in comparison with other Literature papers, like, Assamese, Hindi etc. The speaker was an IA&AS officer and worked as Director General in the CAG of India. He is basically giving the tips how to crack the UPSC Civil Service Examination. He is the first-hand achiever of Civil Services Examination in 1994 and joined in the Indian Audit and Accounts Service. The speaker took Bengali Literature as an Optional Paper and scored huge marks, in Paper - I : 204 and in Paper -II : 151. It was huge to crack the Civil Services. The present video is basically to encourage the new generation IAS aspirants. Bengali Optional Paper 2: Literary Texts Vaishnava Padavali: Poems by Vidyapati, Chandidas, Jnanadas, Govindadas, and Balaramdas. Chandimangal: The Kalketu episode by Mukunda. Chaitanya Charitamrita: The Madya Lila by Krishnadas Kaviraj. Novels: Meghnadbadh Kavya by Madhusudan Dutta, Kapalkundala by Bankimchandra Chattarjee, Samya and Bangadesher Krishak by Bankimchandra Chatterjee, Grihadaha by Saratchandra Chatterjee, and Aranyak by Bibhutibhusan Banerjee. Poetry: Sonar Tari and Nabajatak by Rabindranath Tagore, and Shrestha Kavita by Jibanananda Das. Drama: Raktakarabi by Rabindranath Tagore and Ebam Indrajit by Badal Sircar. Short Stories: A selection of short stories by Manik Bandyopadhyay. Prose: Chhinnapatravali by Rabindranath Tagore and Prabandha Samgraha, Vol. 1 by Pramatha Choudhuri.
