The Columbia-class strategic nuclear submarine (English: Columbia class SSBN) is the fifth-generation ballistic missile submarine of the United States, used to replace the Ohio-class strategic nuclear submarine. The Columbia-class strategic nuclear submarine will be the largest submarine ever built by the U.S. Navy, with a length of 171 meters, a width of 13 meters, and a submersible displacement of 20,810 tons. It is estimated that the total cost is about 125 billion US dollars, and the cost of a single boat is about 12.4 billion to 13 billion US dollars, including about 4.8 billion US dollars of research and development expenses. The development of the Columbia-class strategic nuclear submarine is progressing smoothly.
