Reports suggest that Janata Dal (Secular) has announced probable candidates in four constituencies without formal consultation with alliance partner Bharatiya Janata Party. This move has reportedly triggered dissatisfaction within local BJP circles.The constituencies include Nagathan, Indi, Devarahipparagi, and Basavana Bagewadi. By announcing names in these segments, JDS is seen as indirectly staking claim over these seats ahead of formal seat-sharing talks. Local BJP leaders fear that if JDS contests these seats independently, it could weaken BJP’s organizational base and ticket aspirants in the region.While JDS leaders argue that demanding a higher number of seats in the alliance is within their political right, BJP leaders have reportedly expressed concern over unilateral announcements.
