Denise: [00:00:08] Nobody's falling through the cracks. So we're trying to put into place a lot of different support areas to ensure that students can make that connection with someone at the university and someone that can provide that support and assistance for them. Connor: [00:00:21] I think that ultimately what sets SLU apart is having mentors and professors who see the bigger picture, right? Who see their work as going beyond, you know, you just getting this grade or you just getting this degree and seek to actually inspire students to do more for their community and for themselves. Fred Pestello: [00:00:44] So here at Saint Louis University, you will find a faculty that is devoted to engaging students in their research and helping students pursue independent research questions. Connor: [00:00:53] The entire project was really like from scratch, and I was like, from scratch, and I have no idea how to build the survey. You have a mentor for that. Where do I disseminate it? You have a mentor for that Connor: [00:01:03] We kind of started early and focused early. I couldn't have done that everywhere, which is one reason that I'm really grateful for SLU. So I got to start basically freshman year doing what I hope to work at. I'll be graduating and going out to work in the industry that my research is a part of. Fred Pestello: [00:01:18] That's what SLU is known for, the alumni we produce people of ethics, people of integrity, and people who are successful. Our alumni make the communities in which they work and live better places. Katelyn: [00:01:30] I feel like SLU prepared me so well to end up in a job where I can be a part of something bigger than myself. And my first day there, I was like, okay, I can do this. I was ready and SLU was a big part of that. I don't know if I would have been as ready if I hadn't had that internship, and I wouldn't have had that internship if I didn't go to SLU.
