Murphy Models MM0201 GM Class 201 IE "River Shannon" Diesel Locomotive Review (OO Gauge) HD

This is a review of the all new Murphy Models GM Class 201 Diesel Locomotive in the Orange, Black and Yellow livery. This model is numbered as 201 and is named "River Shannon" with the yellow ends around the cab windows. The model is DCC compatible and there is a pre-installed speaker for those wishing to fit DCC sound into the model and the model has the now common 21-pin DCC socket. The detailing on this model is by far the best I have seen on a continental model that I own at present and like with most of the high range Hornby models like the HST and Class 60. There is also a detailed cab interior which gives scope to the Irish Modeller to add a crew into the cab if they desire. Like with most of the reviews I have recently done, I now test the model and I am very impressed with the response even though the motor a little bit on the feisty side. I have to say that Murphy Models have dedicated a lot of work and effort into this model and this entails the detail which is incredible on this model, all wheel drive for maximum traction right down to the Heljan-style box that this beast of a model comes in to protect it whilst in transit or storage. I have nothing but praise for this model and well done to Murphy Models for giving us this model. I recommend this model to all Irish Modellers and EMD fans alike. Overall Rating: 10/10
