JTS3 Ep 12 - Overlanding South Africa: Pondoland Ponderings - magical moments at Manteku Beach Camp

The Pondo Beach Camps - Manteku, Msikaba and Luphuthana - are owned by a rugby mate of mine, Matt 'Boere' Botha and his Dad. I've seen the pictures and heard the amazing stories first hand from mates who've visited and walked the Pondo Trails with him, so it was a complete no brainer - we had to visit there with Just To See How Far It Is! And that was the plan in Season 2 but it didn't work out - the weather was atrocious, we trashed an awning - so we bailed and ended up having to re-route completely! (All part of the fun of being on the road!) So a massive part of the route planning for Season 3 was around us visiting this magical piece of land north of Port St Johns. We would have loved to spend time at all 3 but the dates just didn't work, so we had settled on 5 nights between Manteku and Luphuthana. And let me tell how stoked we are that we persevered and made this happen... This episode tells our adventures at Manteku - the place is magical, a real slice of a paradise that I'm pleased to say still exists in this commercialized world we live in - I just hope we've done it justice! Of course the real experience is on foot...totally at one with nature and the area...so I guess I need to make sure that experience gets ticked off. You should do the same...really...you should!
