This morning when Shayla opened the barn, Dwayne thought he wanted to head out with the herd—until the Highland cows made their way to the hay. He changed his mind fast and chose to stay inside, enjoying his breakfast in the barn and settling in there for the day. Shayla checked in with the Highlands before heading to the feed mill, promising them a new mineral block. She returned with two, but quickly realized she should have bought at least two more. Atley and Bridgett were so excited they tried to eat the mineral block before she could even set it down. The older girls definitely weren’t in the mood to share with the younger cows today, but once they're bored with it, Shayla is sure they’ll eventually let the younger ones have their turn. Wayne took care of evening chores tonight, but Shayla still made sure to come back out and tell the Highland cows goodnight before closing up.
