While clearing out the office (a job that was long overdue), I stumbled across something I hadn’t looked at properly in 18 months — the handwritten pros and cons list we made before leaving Britain to move to France. Reading it back now was surreal. Some things we completely nailed… and some things? Not even close. The big question is: did we miss anything important? It was a week of small but significant wins. After months of paperwork, inspections and administrative hoops, we finally collected the van’s new number plates — and then, even better, the final carte grise arrived in the post. The van is now officially and fully registered in France. What a relief. We also hit the gym and attempted (unsuccessfully!) to match Mark’s weights — humbling to say the least. I tested out the new DJI Mini Mic transmitter for iPhone in this vlog too, so let me know what you think of the audio quality. It’s reassuring to have a solid backup option — especially after our accident with the Osmo Pocket 3. Clearing the office meant confronting weeks of piled-up paperwork. Admin has never been my strong point, and managing finances and organisation has definitely pushed me outside my comfort zone. Leon used to handle that in the UK, but moving to France has meant we’ve both had to adapt and learn a completely new system. We’re still figuring it out — and probably always will be! Midweek, Cath and I did a little shopping before meeting a friend at the newly owned Fromages et Plus in Villeréal — and wow. The truffle croque monsieur was unreal. If you love truffle as much as I do, you need to try it. We wrapped up the week with a countryside walk and homemade chicken tacos (which I’m very glad I filmed because they were so good and I can now share the recipe with you!).
