The South Doyle Singers Take the Stage with Foreigner

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)-- They're known as one of the top rock banks of all time with 10 multi- platinum albums and hit songs that will make you "Hot Blooded. We're talking about Foreigner and they'll be in Knoxville on Saturday. But they're not the only ones performing; the South Doyle High School Singers will also take the stage. Seth Maples, Choir Director at South Doyle High School explained "At the beginning of school a few students came to me and asked if we could enter the contest. I loved the idea so we put together a mash up video of Foreigner songs." High schools from around the area entered but only one won, South Doyle High School. They will sing with the band on their classic hit, I Want To Know What Love Is, onstage in front of hundreds at the Tennessee Theatre the night of the show. Foreigner will also donate $500 to the South Doyle High School Singers for appearing with the band. Before and after the show, the South Doyle High School Singers will sell Foreigner CD's and a portion of the proceeds from the choir’s CD sales will be donated by Foreigner to the Grammy Foundation. A charity that helps funds for high schools where music programs have been cut due to budget constraints.
