ABANDONED DAM in Fuerteventura, Canary Islands

Join me on a hike up to a dried out reservoir where we explore the trails around the abandoned Peñitas Dam on the island of Fuerteventura in the Canarias. This video was filmed in December, and apologies for the delay in uploading. A brilliant day out from the hotel resort. Located around 20km from Caleta de Fuste is the mountains of Bentacuria, here there are many trails and hikes, but today I was going to the dried out reservoir. After we walk through the dried out river and passed the dam we come across a very small white chapel nestled in the valley, featuring a small altar and guest book. We continue the walk down through the valley and explore what this volcanic dry island has to offer. We finish off by looping up back through the valley.
