During our powerful conversation, Tray shares his journey from dancing on Showtime at the Apollo to becoming part of one of the greatest TV series of all time, his mission to reunite The Wire cast, and his evolution as an artist with new films, music, and business ventures. But at the heart of this conversation is Tray’s survival story: on May 29, 2025, an EF2 tornado demolished his family’s home while Tray and his 19-year-old son Malachi were in the house. Malachi was thrown over 300 feet, left in a coma with life-threatening injuries. Tray speaks on faith, PTSD, therapy, and what “strength” really means when your world is turned upside down.
