LS Engine in a Boat - Fuel Injection Basics

In this video I’m discussing basic concepts of fuel injection systems, specifically applicable to GM fuel injection in 2008 to 2013 trucks and cars. There are numerous data tables stored in the calibration memory of the ECM. Many amateur tuners out there do not understand how to recalibrate a GM ECM. There is one concept in particular that many tuners don’t grasp, which is that the VE tables are not fuel tables. They are air estimation correction factors that allow the ECM to more accurately calculate the ingested airflow, which then leads to fuel quantity supplied to the engine after an air fuel ratio is multiplied to the airflow. Many tuners don’t understand that VE tables and fuel tables are not one and the same.
