Exploring Germany’s WW2 History Before Driving to the Alps

This morning we woke up in Nuremberg after a freezing night and spent some time exploring Germany’s WW2 history before starting our drive toward the Bavarian Alps. We walked around several historical places in Germany, learned more about Nuremberg history, and looked at how these WW2 landmarks appear in the modern day. It’s always surreal seeing how Germany’s past still shapes the landscape today. After exploring the area, we carried on travelling Germany in our campervan, grabbed some supplies, and began the journey south. This part of the trip takes us closer to Garmisch, so it’s very much the start of our Garmisch road trip as we head toward the mountains. As always, it’s a mix of vanlife Germany, family travel in Europe, and discovering places with huge historical significance. In January 2022 Gary bought on old builders van and converted into a fully off grid tiny home on wheels with the aim of getting out and about as much as possible to see more of the world. YouTube seemed the perfect way to documented these travels and to take a step into the world of becoming a digital nomad.
