SWFL Eagles ~ Closeups On E22's Eye Issue! Two Fish Deliveries & Feeding Of E's By Harriet! 1.19.23

E22 was seen earlier in the morning with some sort of issue to its left eye like fish gunk that was causing some irritation. Later, Harriet arrives to the nest with a fish while both E's were at the rails. E22 was doing some preening & falls over backwards into the grass. When it gets up, E21 bonks and bites at E22's eye area causing E22 to lower its head. And does a follow up bonk. E21 will head over to Harriet for a feeding and E22 will follow. The cam operator zooms in and we see E22's eye was partially closed and it looked like some nesting material was stuck in it too but E22 was able to eat well and have a good feeding by Mom. M15 flies in with a fish as well and Harriet will take a break and allow M to eat some of the fish on the nest. We have further closeups during the afternoon of E22's eye. SWFEC Essec09 Admin commented: " A couple of questions were asked earlier of E22's left eye. There does seem to be some type of issue and the camera owners have been notified. We will let our SWFEC know as soon as we have any updates to share." E22 has been eating well throughout the day and has a full crop and is acting normal in spite of the eye issue. I hope that this issue will resolve itself quickly on its own & we will see improvement tomorrow! Thank you for watching!
