In this video, I’m sharing my personal experience of being scammed twice by Turkish travelers in Malaysia. My aim is to raise awareness and help others avoid falling victim to the same scams. The first incident took place in Penang, where I was approached by a couple a man and his wife who claimed to be Turkish tourists. They asked for assistance in finding a place, and then the man pulled out his wallet, showing that he only had US dollars and no Malaysian currency. He then requested that I show him my Malaysian money, claiming his wife had never seen it before. As I showed him my wallet, they distracted me long enough for the man to steal money from it without my noticing. They used eye contact manipulation to carry out the scam, and by the time I realized, my money was gone. Unfortunately, they had disappeared before I could take action. I had planned to report them and get a picture, but they were already gone. The second attempt happened in Kuala Lumpur, near Bukit Bintang, where I encountered another Turkish couple trying to pull off the same scam. They approached me in a similar manner, and the man once again asked to see my wallet, claiming his wife had never seen Malaysian currency. At that point, I immediately realized it was the same scam. This made me realize that this is becoming a dangerous trend in Malaysia. I’m sharing this video to break my silence and warn everyone—both locals and tourists—about this growing scam, which is sadly being carried out by Turkish travelers. Please stay vigilant, especially if you find yourself in similar situations. If anyone has experienced this scam in Malaysia, share your story in the comments below. Your safety is important. I hope this video helps you avoid becoming a victim of this scam.
