Affects that can have a severe impact on quality of life, are multiplied by factors such as identity and intersectionality, have a knock effect on physical health and in many cases are made considerably worse by the the same medication they rely on to alleviate symptoms. It’s also one of the most widely misunderstood mental health conditions and one of the most commonly misrepresented on screen.
