Removing ARB deluxe winch bar and fitting an AFN bar to a Prado 150 series GXL 2014

The weekend was spent fitting a new bull bar to my 2014 GXL Prado 150 series. We removed the ARB bar and replaced it with the AFN bar and the results are amazing. The process wasn’t as straight forward as we had expected, all the bolts were seized and rusted on. They basically all had to be cut off with a grinder except the actual bolts holding the original bar to the chassis. We also had to do some modifications to allow for the refitting of the ARB recovery point which took some extra time but again the results were spot on. There are a few small things that need to be tidied up like the winch cabling and control box plus the wiring for the fog lights otherwise the car is ready for the road. Remember to plan and prepare, always have all your equipment and PPE on hand to ensure the job runs smoothly.
