This became necessary when Ted Turner "bought" the station's call letters for re-branding of his own station in Atlanta. (The catch is that call letters aren't actually owned by a station, and therefore, are not technically for sale.) Notes: In one short sequence, the music exemplifies how eclectic the station was, shifting from punk to rockabilly (and other genres) in a matter of moments. At least some of the sound effects were likely pre-produced -- with a possible exception of the "Burping Churd" (as evidenced by the sound of the audio cart's tape loop inadvertently re-cuing on the air). Among other things, the call letters WMBR stood for: "Walker Memorial Basement Radio," and "We Make Boston Rock." ~~~
