There is nothing quite like the sounds of rain on a tin roof while you are camping in a remote cabin or hut. I love camping in the rain, listening to rain falling, and the hope of snow. In this video I hike into the mountains to stay overnight in an old musterers hut in the Arthur's Pass National Park, in the South Island of New Zealand during a heavy rainstorm and snowfall warning. The walk in was beautiful but very very wet. It rained really hard and I was grateful to get to the dry shelter of the hut. Gathering firewood and starting the indoor fire was not easy, but so worth it when I got to warm myself by the fire while I listened to the rain. The snow fell overnight and I awoke to snow on the ground.
