Buddha Descending from Heaven Fundamentally, my practice deals with belief systems, faith and the spirituality. It reveals how faith, in the midst of this ever-changing world, could persist. This pandemic has brought about a precarious situation and has sown seeds of sorrow, dismay and agitation. I truly believe the most important thing that we need to possess right now is mental resilience, and with it faith and hope. It is the belief of Buddhism that wherever mankind encounters affliction, Buddha would descend from heaven to remind us to be optimistic and mindful of one’s living environment. And more importantly, to accept that life in the present and future can never be the same again. I do believe, in the end, we will collectively survive this crisis.
