Hey, everyone. Ryan here at etrailer. Are you trying to use some different accessories or even pull a trailer around Then check this out. This is a Draw-Tite trailer hitch, and we're gonna be showing you how to install it on the 2020 Kia Soul. There are two trailer hitches available for the Soul. So you got this Draw-Tite here, and then there's also one that's made by Curt. And between the two, if you we inchesre to ask me which one I would go with, it would be the Draw-Tite, really because it has the larger two inch by two inch receiver tube opening. So it's gonna be a lot more versatile and work with a lot more accessories. The hitch is going to use that standard five eights pin and clip. Keep in mind though, one doesn't come included. If you need one, not a huge deal. You can get it here at etrailer. A lot of times too, if you end up buying a new accessory, they'll come with one. So something to look out for there. And the safety chain openings, relatively large, easy to get to, and should allow you to use just about any size hook that your trailer might have on it. When it comes to what the hitch is gonna be able to handle, it's gonna have a 300 pound maximum gross tongue weight rating. So that's the amount of weight pushing down on the hitch. And with that, you should be able to use those one to three, maybe even four bike racks, just depending on how much everything weighs. To give an example there. For the maximum gross trailer weight rating, that's gonna be 2000 pounds for the amount of weight pulling on the hitch. So that will be the weight of your trailer, plus anything that you might have entered on it. I do always like to suggest, always a good idea just to grab your Kia's owner's manual. That way you can check in there and make sure that your Soul can handle that amount of weight safely. We'll grab a couple measurements now, and these will help us figure out what type of accessories are gonna work best. If you go from the ground to the top inside edge of the receiver tube opening, that's gonna be about nine and a half inches. So for those of you, you know, looking for a new accessory, I'd probably recommend one that has a rise in the shank. That way it'll come up and be up off the ground a little bit more. And the same will hold true if you're towing a trailer around. It will need a ball mount with a rise in the shank. Probably that five inch or six inch range will work well on most scenarios. And if you go from the center of the hitch pin hole to the edge of the rear bumper, that's gonna be about five inches and you can use that to help figure out exactly if any of those folding accessories that you might have can be stored in that upright position without hitting the back of your Kia. Other than that, not really a whole lot to it. You know, the hitch looks good on the back of the Kia, and because of that larger opening, it's gonna be the most versatile option. As far as the installation goes, it's really not too bad. You just remove a couple fasteners by the wheel well liners to help get them out of the way. Lower the exhaust some. It's not a big deal. You will have to trim the bumper, just a little bit of plastic to give you a cleaner look. And more or less the hitch just bolts up into place. So it really shouldn't come across too many issues. Now with that said, if you don't have the time or place to to mess with this, I definitely understand. You can always use our dealer locator network that can help you find a shop in your neighborhood that can do something like this for you. But if you're going to give it a go, hang around. We'll go ahead, pull into the garage and get started on it now. To begin our installation, we're gonna be working just behind our rear tire here on our Kia. And we're gonna have a push pin fastener that we need to remove. To get these out, you can just take a flathead screwdriver and pry down on the head of it. Then you're able to pull the base and everything else out. And from this point on, whatever we do to one side of our vehicle, we'll also do to the other side so we'll set up the same. But now we can move to this side of our liner to get a couple screws out. Here's what the two screws look like, and you can just take a Phillips bit and get 'em removed. We are gonna need to let the exhaust come down a lit
