1975 Honda CB750K5 This is a super clean unrestored 1975 Honda CB750K in Planet Blue Metallic. It’s all original with the exception of the exhaust system. The original exhaust system goes with the bike. It’s in very good condition except for the typical rusted out lower sections that nearly all of these bikes suffer from. There is a scratch on the left side cover and the redline zone on the tachometer is faded as was another common issue on old Hondas. The paint is original and the miles are believed to be correct and are very low at 4995. The inside of the gas tank is pristine and looks brand new. I purchased the bike in January of 2014 from the third owner. The story I got was that the original owner was I little short for the bike and after dropping it in his garage he pretty much just kept it in storage seldom riding it and that may account for the very low miles. The trained eye of a serious collector will notice little things like the bolts and fittings that are untouched. There is still the yellow inspection paint on various nuts and bolts that are there from the factory which was done to show that the torque of that particular fastener had been quality control checked. The tires are new and are period correct style. The original tool kit is still under the seat but the owner's manual is missing. The carbs have been cleaned and synced, brakes have been flushed and serviced. It’s ready to ride or show. The bike starts, runs and rides as good as it looks. It really feels like turning back the clock and riding out on a new CB750 back in 1975. For 1975 the CB750K5 was available in two colors: Planet Blue Metallic or Flake Apricot Red and of interest is the fact that 1975 was the only year Honda made the CB750 SOHC in Blue. Some of the other changes and unique features of the K5 were that the instrument faces were dark green, the speedometer numbers were increments of 10, the upper forks were chrome, tank pinstripe was wider than the K3 model and the headlight shell was black. The taillight and side reflectors were larger than the K4 model and turn signals were also larger and relocated to the forks in the front rather than at the end of the headlight pivots. There was a two-throttle cable system (pull open and pull closed). The exhaust system was a 4-into-4 just like the original K0. The engine was a 736cc SOHC 2-valve dry sump inline 4 cylinder linked to a 5-speed transmission and chain drive.
