In this talk, Hugo Spiers, Professor of Cognitive Neuroscience at University College London and a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Navigation discusses how video games can be used to make discoveries about how people use their brain and brain science. He speaks about his research into Alzheimer's and dementia through the development of the video game Sea Hero Quest. 'One of the earliest symptoms in that disease is becoming disoriented so entering into a game where users can move around is a way to potentially explore whether someone might be disoriented.'
