CEC Tashi Gyalson justifies HIAL land cancellation, cites non payment of premium

Chief Executive Councillor (CEC) of LAHDC Leh, Tashi Gyalson, in a press conference, clarified the administration’s stand on the HIAL land cancellation order. He stated that the decision was taken strictly as per law, dismissing any other motives behind it. Gyalson explained that HIAL’s failure to pay the land premium was one of the reasons for the cancellation. The CEC rejected attempts to hold the Hill Council responsible for all matters accusing the Congress of “talking unnecessarily and setting wrong narratives to create confusion among the public.” He urged the opposition to engage in constructive politics rather than playing a blame game. Reaffirming his commitment, Gyalson said he strives to work for the welfare of the people of Ladakh and is addressing issues related to land, safeguards, and development. “Under the mentorship of veteran leaders of Ladakh, I will continue working for the betterment and progress of our people,” he added.
