Sloane Guy, MD, MBA, is the Director of Minimally Invasive and Robotic Cardiac Surgery at the Georgia Heart Institute at Northeast Georgia Health System. Previously, he was Professor of Surgery at Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and Director of Minimally Invasive and Robotic Cardiac Surgery. Dr. Guy is nationally renowned as a leader in robotic mitral valve repair and other robotic cardiac surgical procedures. Dr. Guy earned an MBA in Healthcare Administration from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and his MD from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He completed his general surgery internship at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, followed by a general surgery residency and cardiothoracic surgery fellowships at the University of Pennsylvania. He served as a cardiothoracic surgeon in the Army, including three tours as a trauma surgeon in Afghanistan and Iraq, earning several military awards.
