Normally, a railway station has stairs (and, optionally, elevators and/or escalators) to connect the platforms to an under- or overpass. This one, Düsseldorf Flghafen railway station, has an elevator at each platform, as well as walkways, that make the elevator somewhat redundant. They are also somewhat noisy, i.e. squeaky. Stairs are located at the opposide side of the overpass. There are several things I only noticed while watching the video on my computer: First, the light of an in-car elevator button goes out soon after the cab has started to go up, for some odd reason. And second, the two pistons are out of sync, as is noticeable when the elevator is at the lower level - while the lowest part of the piston is extended as far as possible (with the remaining parts being collapsed all the way) on one side, the other piston has its three parts extended equally. The train you saw running through the station is an ICE, Germany's high speed train. At this station, there are separate tracks for such trains, isolated from the platforms. Technical specifications: Brand: Otis Capacity: 2500kg / ~5510lbs / 33 people Type: hydraulic (three-stage with two pistons) Year built: 1999 Travel distance: 2 stops
