(23 Sep 2021) JOHNNY DEPP LEAVES CEREMONY AFTER RECEIVING AWARD Johnny Depp was all smiles after receiving the San Sebastián Film Festival's Donostia Award on Wednesday (22 SEPTEMBER 2021). The Hollywood star waved and blew kisses to fans as he left the ceremony - a ceremony that was questioned by female filmmakers and other groups saying it tarnished the event's image and delivered the wrong message to victims of gender violence, after a British judge found allegations that Depp attacked ex-wife Amber Heard to be “substantially correct” last year. Depp lost a libel case against a British newspaper that accused him of domestic violence. In March, a British court refused Depp permission to appeal the ruling that he assaulted Heard, saying his attempt to overturn the decision had “no real prospect of success.”    Depp is also suing Heard for $50 million in Virginia over a Washington Post op-ed essay that she wrote about domestic violence. The trial in that case was recently delayed until April 2022.
