Aerial views of the Westhoofd Lighthouse and Ouddorp Beach as capture by a 4K camera drone. Welcome back to the channel. We’re traveling around the Netherlands and sharing with you the very best of this beautiful country. In this episode we share exclusive cinematic footage of the Westhoofd Lighthouse and Ouddorp Beach from the air. The Westhoofd Lighthouse was built between 1947 and 1950 to replace the lighthouse destroyed in WWII. The lighthouse is 52 m tall. In 1989, a radar antenna was installed on the tower. In 2007 the lighthouse became a national monument. The light characteristic is three flashes per 15 seconds; this is the same as the lighthouse on Ameland. The light has a luminous intensity of 5,200,000 candelas and a visibility of 30 nautical miles. Ouddorp is a village in the Dutch province of South Holland. It is part of the municipality of Goeree-Overflakkee. It is often referred to as Ouddorp aan Zee to promote itself as a seaside resort, because the village has an 18 kilometres long beach which is the longest of the Netherlands.
