(London and North Eastern Railway) was the major railway serving the eastern area of Great Britain, with its lines covering East Anglia, Yorkshire, Northumberland and the Scottish coast through to Aberdeen. Its wide variety of locomotives - which included the most famous and fastest of all time "Flying Scotsman' and 'Mallard' - is well represented today in the world of preservation and on the main lines. Filmed over many years from 1988 to 1995, this majestic legacy demonstrates the fascination of steam power and allows us to enjoy again the splendour of steam on LNER Lines. Over 25 locomotives are featured including: 'Union of South Africa', 'Mallard', 'Blue Peter' and the 'Flying Scotsman'. Original release: 1996
