The ASMODUS Galatek 24mm RDA | Possibly the Worst RDA Deck of 2017? But It’s Cool Looking!

The Galatek is the latest RDA from Asmodus. Sent over free for the purpose of this review. I have to tell you, if looks were everything, this device would be a win for me. So unique with its reflection dismorphing chambers containing rocketships and space men. It’s one of a kind. Unique in every respect when it comes to outward appearance. But looks, sadly, are not everything. And the deck, tho a looker in its own right with its raised postless design and its gold screws may lure you in with the promise of singularity, it disappoints impressively. First your leads are initially weakened by being screwed in with side tension - a design I will always question. Then they are stretched and bent at a 90 degree angle to bring them to the bottom air intake, a process that further weakens the leads. But the nail in the coffin is the wobbly positive post - indeed, the positive pin turns but will not actually tighten the post, which remains wobbly and causes terrible arching in the leads when it’s fired and the resistance to fluctuate once you do finally get the damn thing to glow up right. These three RDA deck don’ts caused me to go through four fused clapton coils just to get the thing situated with dual coils. Horrible! But it’s cool looking.
