A recording of the Magnificat (Luke 1:46-55), which when sung at Matins between the 8th and 9th Odes of the Canon has the Troparion "More honourable than the Cherubim..." added after each verse as a refrain; sung to the Kievan Chant podoben (special melody) "I Believe", commonly called the "Akathist Melody", by the combined Jordanville Seminary Choir, St. Tikhon's Mission Choir, and ROCOR Eastern American Diocese Youth Men's Choir for the occasion of the Vigil for the Hawaii Iveron Icon of the Mother of God, on October 12th, 2012, in celebration of the 5th Anniversary of the Reunification of ROCOR with the Moscow Patriarchate. The text is as follows: 1. My soul doth magnify the Lord; and my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour. More honourable than the Cherubim, and beyond compare more glorious than the Seraphim, who without corruption gavest birth to God the Word, the very Theotokos, thee do we magnify. 2. For He hath looked upon the lowliness of His handmaiden; for behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed. More honourable than the Cherubim, and beyond compare more glorious than the Seraphim, who without corruption gavest birth to God the Word, the very Theotokos, thee do we magnify. 3. For the Mighty One hath done great things to me, and holy is His Name; and His mercy is on them that fear Him unto generation and generations. More honourable than the Cherubim, and beyond compare more glorious than the Seraphim, who without corruption gavest birth to God the Word, the very Theotokos, thee do we magnify. 4. He hath showed strength with His arm; He hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their heart. More honourable than the Cherubim, and beyond compare more glorious than the Seraphim, who without corruption gavest birth to God the Word, the very Theotokos, thee do we magnify. 5. He hath put down the mighty from their seat, and exalted them of low degree; He hath filled the hungry with good things, and the rich He hath sent empty away. More honourable than the Cherubim, and beyond compare more glorious than the Seraphim, who without corruption gavest birth to God the Word, the very Theotokos, thee do we magnify. 6. He hath holpen His servant Israel in remembrance of His mercy; as He spake to our fathers, to Abraham and to his seed for ever. More honourable than the Cherubim, and beyond compare more glorious than the Seraphim, who without corruption gavest birth to God the Word, the very Theotokos, thee do we magnify.
