Salama Monologues
These monologues are re-enactments of actual testimonials collected from 77 people living in communities all over Nairobi city. The names have been altered to protect the sanctity of those affected but the stories remain as told. The purpose of this visual product is to create awareness on mental health especially during this time of the corona virus pandemic. *Salama = Swahili for 'Safe' Mau Mau Arts (Kenya) in partnership with 100% San Agustín (Venezuela), supported by In Place Of War (United Kingdom), is working on this project that seeks to create mental health awareness through the arts.
