Kingswear Level Crossing

Friday September 16 2022 at 17.15. The 16.40 Paignton to Kingswear (17.00) train running 18 minutes late and not shown on Realtime Trains unlike all the others that day. This crossing is on the Dartmouth Steam Railway which operates on 6⅔ miles of track from Paignton to here. You may have noticed though that while this is near Dartmouth and it is a railway, the 'steam' part was missing. Allegedly steam trains run except in emergencies. Maybe the reason why the train was almost completely empty was because people have learnt that 'emergencies' happen quite often in September. My September 2019 video on the Nene Valley railway produced a similar result. An impressive Battle of Britain class loco was promised.    • Wansford Level Crossing   The sign on the right here says "Private crossing no public access" which I respected of course. Having arrived from Chapel LC five minutes after this train was supposed to have gone back to Paignton, I wasn't prepared for the crossing to activate. Disappointing that there is no scenic view here.
