This video took way to long to upload and I apologize for the delay but YouTube was having some issues. This video will cover one of the more rare Swiss surplus items and we will get into that later. This is a the Swiss rubberized raincoat or trench coat. The reasons this item are more rare then other Swiss surplus are that at the time this was begging to be made in the late 50’s it was expensive to produce. This coat is made in the usual Swiss fashion with the best materials and craftsmanship available. So other small reasons this wasn’t so widely issued is because it it’s a large heavy piece of gear. The second reason this coat is more rare is because since it is such a large heavy piece of gear it was only given to people who really needed it such as sentries and dispatch riders, although it was available for purchase by officers. All of these coats were issued with a removable wool liner I’ve only ever seen two with wool liners one with a heavier all wool liner and this one which I’m guessing is an officer purchased one because it had a lighter wool and silk liner. I also want to know if anyone like me likes rubberized rain gear over other types of rain gear, and if so what do you use let me know in the comments. Hopefully you liked this video and subscribed if you like this sort of stuff. Please leave a comment with any questions, additional information, or suggestions for future videos and I will do my best to answer them. As always thanks for watching. Thank you, Devin K.
