Reacting to Rose Anvil’s Common Projects TAKE DOWN Video

Two days ago when I posted my Common Projects vs. Koio (Achilles vs. Capri Triple White) video, a TON of you sounded off in the comments about a video by Rose Anvil where they completely deconstruct a pair of Common Projects Original Achilles and determine that 1) the materials aren’t as high a quality as people have thought; and 2) that Common Projects sneakers should not cost upwards of $400. To the latter point--no surprise there, but you’re paying the “luxury tax”. Let’s go over a little bit of a timeline here. I recorded my video on May 3rd and published on May 12th. Rose Anvil published on May 6th. I’ve never heard of Rose Anvil. I did not see Rose Anvil’s Common Projects video prior to posting my Common Projects vs. Koio comparison video. BUT, after so many of you mentioned it in the comments, I couldn’t wait to take a look and see what all the buzz was about. Prior to today (well, yesterday as this was recorded on May 13th) I had never heard of Rose Anvil, known about the YouTube channel, or this video. Other than doing a quick survey of the Rose Anvil website--they sell small leather goods, sorry, artisan leather goods--I did no further research on the brand or this video.
