Sky News host Chris Kenny says most of the media are obsessed with slamming US President Donald Trump while there are signs his "threats" to use the military might have worked. It comes as Mr Kenny said there seems to be “some tensions” between US President Donald Trump and his US Defence Secretary Mark Esper in the fallout of the death of African-American man George Floyd. On Thursday Mr Esper had broken government ranks to say he does not support the President's decision to mobilise the military in order to stop protests. President Trump threatened to invoke the Insurrection Act of 1807 to employ troops to "dominate" the streets if state governors refused to do so. Mr Esper said the decision to use active-duty forces in a law enforcement role "should only be used as a last resort and only in the most urgent and dire situations". “Much is being made of these comments by Donald Trump's Defence Secretary,” Mr Kenny said. He said President Trump “obviously used the threat of intervention” in a bid to “try to force the city mayors and state governors to do more with their police and national guards”. “The signs are it might have worked, at least to some degree”. “But you simply won't hear the media discuss such possibilities, they are obsessed with slamming Trump, every minute of every day”.
