The camera’s reliability and crisp image quality made it a perfect choice for documenting delicate underwater details. Even with the difficulties of filming in open water, it consistently produced clear, vibrant footage of corals and marine creatures. The goal of the project was to present the underwater world in its true form, keeping post-production to a minimum to preserve the natural look and feel of the scene. One of the most fascinating inhabitants featured in this episode is the parrotfish, often called the “architect of the reef.” Using its powerful beak-like teeth, the parrotfish grinds coral rock while feeding on algae. Over time, the crushed coral passes through its system and becomes fine white sand—meaning that many tropical beaches exist thanks to these fish. Some species can produce hundreds of kilograms of sand each year, quietly reshaping the seafloor while keeping coral reefs healthy and growing.
