Exodus 33 Explained: God’s Presence, Moses’ Bold Prayer, and the Glory of YHWH
In Shemot 33, after the golden calf crisis, YHWH tells Israel to go up to the promised land but warns He will not go in their midst. The people mourn, Moshe pitches the Tent of Meeting outside the camp, and God speaks to him “face to face” as to a friend. Moses refuses blessing without presence and pleads, “Show me Your ways…show me Your glory.” This teaching walks through Exodus 33 with verse‑group breakdowns, reflection questions, and a look at what it means to be a people marked by God’s presence.
