Rae Allen, the Tony award-winning actress known for playing Aunt Quintina Blundetto in "The Sopranos" and Lucy Fearing in "The Fearing Mind," died Wednesday. She was 95."I had the pleasure of representing Rae Allen for over 20 years," her representative Kyle Fritz said in a statement to USA TODAY Thursday. "She's one the most gifted actresses I have ever had the honor of working with. I will be forever grateful to have been a part of her incredible journey."Allen died peacefully in her sleep, Fritz confirmed. The actor has been involved in high-profile projects including "All in the Family," "Soap," "Seinfeld," "NYPD Blue," and "Grey's Anatomy," in addition to "The Sopranos" and "The Fearing Mind." The Brooklyn, New York, native's career spans over 50 years, with her first TV credit being "The Untouchables" in 1962 and her final job in the TV series "Vampire Mob" in 2011, according to IMDb. The actor, born Rae Julia Theresa Abruzzo, started out in Broadway. In 1955, prior to her TV and movie career, the American Academy of Dramatic Arts alumni starred in the play "Damn Yankees" as Gloria Thorpe. The role earned her a Tony nomination for best featured actress in a play, and she starred in its film adaption in 1958. Her song "Shoeless Joe From Hannibal, Mo" featured in "Damn Yankees" is still played at New York Yankees games. Allen earned her second Tony nomination for the 1967 production "Traveler Without Luggage." In 1971, she won the Tony for best featured actress in a play for her role as Fleur Stein in "And Miss Reardon Drinks a Little."The actor left an impact on many within the TV and film industry. Some celebrities took to Twitter to share tributes dedicated to the late star."Great artist, dear friend and momma #RaeAllen has gone on home. What a joy of a being! I love you always. I bet you’re dancing #aleagueoftheirown," actor and director Lori Petty wrote in a tribute on Twitter. Actor Jonathan Del Arco, the spouse of Allen's manager Fritz, reminisced about Allen, writing on Twitter, "Good bye teacher n friend. You lived fiercely and with a sense of humor. I once put my drink down on a coaster while visiting her and noticed it was her Tony! She quipped 'I really gotta get that thing fixed, in the meantime it's useful don’t you think?' "Allen is survived by nieces Laura and Betty Cosgrove, according to Deadline and Variety.
