Early Morning Magic in Yangshuo | Sunrise Photography with a DJI Pocket 3 In this episode of Accessible Photography, I wake up early in my hotel room in Yangshuo, China, to witness an unexpected burst of stunning morning light. As someone who’s not naturally a morning person due to chronic illness, I usually struggle with early starts— but this sunrise is too beautiful to ignore. I grab my Nikon Zf and my new DJI Pocket 3 and head out to capture the peaceful glow of the Karst peaks reflecting in the Li River. The sky is filled with soft lilac hues, and for a brief moment, the landscape seems to glow in ways that are almost magical. It’s an unforgettable experience, and even though it’s a rare moment for me, I’m so glad I didn’t miss it. Though I don’t record the next morning’s sunrise, the images I capture are breathtaking—the pink-tipped peaks and the river that mirrors the colours of the sky, all before the heat of the summer day sets in.
