The speaker is James Gilbert, author and historian with a specialty in studying the 1950s and 1960s. I interviewed him back in 1989 for my TV series on the 1960s and how many young people who saw themselves as part of the sixties generation were provoked as children by what happened in the 1950s. All of us who grew up at that time new the juvenile delinquents in our school and some of us felt a bit jealous of the responses adults had to them.
