Unplanned landing after taking off from Poniente, Sierra Lijar, Andalucia, Spain June 2022

After taking off from Poniente in the Sierra Lijar, in low wind and with very few small thermals I was forced to land well short of the official landing field. There were a few other landing options closer to the landing field, but I decided it was best to land where I did. There was no point in taking the risk of crossing the power lines unnecessarily. I did the usual legs down and flare on landing, but in hind site it may have been better to flare with legs up high since the wheat was so tall and there was no possibility of running off the landing speed. Not a perfect landing by any stretch of the imagination but all good in the end.
